Russian Germans, also known as Volga Germans or Russlanddeutsche, are individuals of German ancestry who settled in Russia in the 18th century. The history of the Russian Germans is a relatively unknown but significant
story that has impacted many people through that time as well as my own family.
Based on recollections of my grandparents and relatives, this book depicts our story and how we deal with the loss of identity. It includes background information on the historical context, beginning with the invitation, descriptions of life in Russia, and their return to Germany.
